Petaluma swimmers go long in Lake Berryessa masters open-water event

Twelve swimmers from Petaluma joined hundreds of swimmers from Northern California and beyond for one- and two-mile open-water swims and a 500-yard youth event in the 25th annual Lake Berryessa Swim hosted by the Davis Aquatic Masters.
In the masters swim, Kevin Keating placed 14th in the 40-44-year-old division with a time of 52:17. Larry Reed placed 13th at 53:23 and Greg Mitchell 14th in 53:56 in the 50-54-year-old division. Sherie Michaeli placed ninth in the 50-54-yar-old division at 1:11.52. Carol Eber was sixth in the 60-64 division in 1:14.48. Twin Valley Aquatics had a number of swimmers compete. In the one-mile USA Swim, Theo St. Francis was 25th in 31:53 and Dylan Steiner was 26th in 31:59 in the 11-12-year-old division. Dylan Hamilton was ninth in 22:12, Derek Baldwin 12th in 22:29 and David Tarauso 24th in 25:07 in the 15-16-year-old division. In the girls face, Haley Baird was 21st in the 11-12 division in 35.06. In the 500-yard youth swim, Henry Steiner was eighth in the 8-10-year-old division in 7:28.
