First tourney a good one for SCA 98 team

Under rain-soaked skies in Alameda, the SCA 98 girls soccer team, coached by Shawn Rothrock, competed in their first ever NorCal tournament.

The Petaluma girls defeated one under 9 team and fought hard against two under 10 teams.

In their first game, Petaluma lost to Manteca, 7-2. Julia Herrera, scored both Petaluma goals.

The second game against PSA United ended in a 4-1 win for SCA. Goals were scored by Herrera and Eden Brooker.

Bay Oaks defeated SCA, 5-0 in the final game; however, only one goal was scored against SCA in the second half.

Contributing to the effort were Eden Brooker, Hailey Iribarne, Kathleen Mateo, Stephanie Mitchell, Herrera, Anna Hilbert, Madison Parratt, Sofia Gonzalez, Isabella Murphy, Jordan Boehning, Janelle Schwartz, Hannah DeVoe and Alexia Martinez.
