Kid Scoop

June 7, 2006

This week's writing topic is: Summer time is also reading time. What book or books do you recommend other kids should read this summer? Writing is from fifth- and sixth-graders at Cinnabar Elementary School.

A book I would recommend is "Red Wall." "Red Wall" is a very good book for ages 8 1/2 to 12 1/2. You especially want to read it this summer when school is out. The reason is that it is a long book you can't stop reading. It has action, mystery and much more. You should get "Red Wall." It rocks.

-- Sage Beaube

I think a good book is "The Giver" because it tells about everything in the world. Also, it talks about love, death and pain. It also talks about snow rides and holidays. That is why I picked "The Giver."

-- Starla Lewis

A book I would recommend is "The Giver." It is really good. You should read it. It's a little confusing, but it's okay. One of the main characters is Jonas Gabe and The Giver. I promise that you would love this book. You need to be mature to read it.

A book that I recommend for people to read in the summer is "The Clique." "The Clique is a really good book. It's about five girls who hate one another, but end up being friends. It is about girl drama, but it is a great book to read.

-- Kaity Rickman

The book that I recommend is called "Walk Two Moons." This book is amazing. Our class loved it so much that we did a magnificent play about it. I loved it, and so did my best friend. Anybody who reads this book will want to read it 100 more times. Trust me, you will never get bored of this wonderful book.
