State withdraws local cheese
On June 16, the California Department of Food and Agriculture issued a hold on all of Petaluma-based Spring Hill Cheese's Jersey Jack cheese, and ordered a withdrawal of all 8-pound wheels and wedges of the same brand from retail distribution due to detection of Listeria monocytogenes bacteria.
